Dino’s Picks: Apparat Organ Quartet- Pólýfónía

Apparat Organ Quartet the electronic group from Reykjavik, Iceland consists of 4 keyboardists and a drummer. The band formed in 1999 and released their debut self-titled in 2002. Eight whole years later they released their album Pólýfónía and it wasn’t until 2011 that they signed to Crunchy Frog and got the album released worldwide. This is an incredible album! It is a great mix of rock and original electronic music. They use vintage equipment and frequent vocoded vocals. Kraftwerk‘s Computer World is a great comparison to this album and the band’s overall sound. If you’ve ever wanted to take part in an 8-bit mosh pit this is the album for you! Tracks like “123 Forever”, “Konami”, “Babbage” and “Cargo Frakt” really give a sense of what these guys are all about. Overall this is a really fun and innovative record. I hope that if robots try and kill the human race they put this on while doing so. Check out this awesome video for “123 Forever” below and pick up the album!
